Artist's Comments

The fertle (ferret-turtle) is known for its clumsiness but amiable nature. Oftentimes it is observed to help out turtles who've flipped over on their backsides. It would then timidly ask for swimming lessons, for they have never successfully floated on water no matter how they tried. They hope to learn in order to catch fish to eat, it is the food that they most enjoy. Fertles have difficult times fitting in with other animals because of their odd appearance and eagerness to be helpful.

Fertle sounds like fertile...I can't think of a different or better name though...turlet? sounds like toilet...Fertoise?

Sketched on paper, and then colored in sketchbook pro, background texture made and added in photoshop

Critique is welcome. Trying to improve, so lend me some advice please. Thanks for looking! :wave:

Hahaha, I have a soft spot for ferrets! (Cause Draco Malfoy's a ferret! XD!)

Thanks for the comment. Haha I can draw those but not very well. I've been drawing creatures that I kind of forgot how to draw people. ^^; Besides, we can use references, right? Hey, I'm jealous of you! I wasn't as good are you are when I was your age. Heh, now I sound old.

I always use references x.x .. and currently learning how to paint with watercolour cause I simply suck at it, haha.
